This notice is issued under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties and its Regulations.

What data we collect

When you write to us. Name, email, phone if you choose to give it, and whatever you put in the message. None of it is required beyond what you decide to include.

One detail worth understanding: the contact form on this site does not send anything to a server of ours. When you submit it, your own mail client or WhatsApp opens with the message already written, and you decide whether to send it. Until you send it, we have received nothing.

When you only browse. The server hosting the site (Vercel Inc.) automatically logs IP address, browser type, pages visited, and date and time. These are technical operating and security logs; we do not use them to identify or profile you.

We do not collect sensitive personal data, financial data, or asset data through this site. If a transaction ever requires them, they will be requested separately and with your express consent.

What we use it for

Necessary purposes, meaning the ones that create the relationship:

  • Answering your enquiry about a property, a lot, or a service.
  • Following up on a transaction in progress: viewings, documentation, appraisal, closing.
  • Meeting legal and tax obligations arising from a transaction.

Additional purposes, which are not necessary and which you can refuse without it affecting the service you get:

  • Letting you know when something close to what you were looking for comes into the portfolio.

To refuse the additional ones, just say so in your first message or write to us later. We do not use your data for third-party advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not trade it.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses one cookie, and it is functional:

  • `NEXT_LOCALE`, which remembers whether you prefer the site in Spanish or English so it does not have to ask you again on every visit.

We use no advertising cookies, no social network cookies, and no third-party analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmaps. That is why this site does not show you a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to beyond the strictly functional.

If analytics are added in future, this notice will be updated before they are switched on, and the appropriate consent mechanism will appear.

You can delete that cookie from your browser settings at any time; the site will keep working and will simply ask for your language again.

Who it is shared with

We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. There are three situations in which your data leaves our hands:

Providers that keep the site running. Vercel Inc. hosts the site and processes the technical logs described above. Its servers are outside Mexico.

WhatsApp. If you write to us there, your message passes through the infrastructure of WhatsApp LLC, a Meta company, under that platform's privacy policies, which we do not control. If you would rather not use it, write to us by email.

When a transaction moves forward. Closing requires sharing data with the notary, the authorised valuer, and, where applicable, the trustee bank. Those transfers are necessary to perform the contract and, under Article 37 of the Law, do not require your additional consent. We will tell you who and what for in each case.

We may also disclose data when a competent authority lawfully requires it.

Your ARCO rights

At any time you may:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify it if it is incorrect or incomplete.
  • Cancel it, meaning ask us to delete it.
  • Object to us using it for a specific purpose.

You may also withdraw your consent or limit the use or disclosure of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, write to costalegrerealtor@gmail.com stating your name, a way to reply to you, which right you want to exercise, and over which data. We will reply within a maximum of 20 business days and, where applicable, it will take effect within the following 15 business days.

We do not charge for handling an ARCO request, other than shipping or reproduction costs if you ask for copies on physical media.

If you believe your data protection rights have been infringed, you may take it up with the competent Mexican authority.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a transaction are kept while there is a reasonable interest in following up, and are deleted no later than 24 months after the last contact.

Data from a completed transaction is kept for the period required by Mexican tax and commercial law, which is five years from closing.

After those periods, data is deleted or anonymised.

Minors

This site is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we find we have received data from a minor without the consent of a parent or guardian, we will delete it.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, the new version is published on this same page with its update date. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you through the contact channel you gave us.
